Close Call
Yesterday, I volunteered at the school in Kaylee's class. My awesome neighbor Sarah watched Kase for me. When I was done volunteering, school was out. So I drove the older two kids home and we stopped across the street (kiddie corner from us) to pick Kase up. It was a cold snowy day and there was ice all over but Kaylee and Kase wanted to walk home. I reluctantly agreed, but it was only a whole 2 houses away. I said, "ok, just cross the street together". THANK HEAVENS Kaylee listened to that rule. I backed out of the driveway and was waiting for them to cross in front of me. But there were a couple cars coming towards us, so the kids waited for them to pass. And without any warning at all, a truck came ZOOMING from behind me, and went around my car. He must have been going 40 mph!!! Kase didn't see the truck and started to bolt out. I never felt sooo helpless in all my life!!! It happen so quick, the truck was going WAY too fast down our street, Kase was bolting into the road. I knew the truck wouldn't have enough time to stop. But KAYLEE came to the rescue, she jumped toward Kase and grabbed him by the hoodie and yanked him back into the clear!!!!!! My heart was beating out of my chest!!!! I just witnessed my daughter save my sons life!!!! It was a moment that is ingrained in my mind! I am just so thankful that she was aware and fast enough to grab him! I love my children so much, and that moment scared me to my core. I am so thankful we have siblings to watch out for one another.

2013
Ok... so lets be honest. I just logged on here to blogger and shamefully realized I haven't posted anything since OCTOBER! Geesh. Slacker. So, of course, I went to my pics and was trying to decide what was the most important thing that happened since then so I could get bloggin....But then a super genius idea popped into my head.
My hubby completely rocks and made a video of our family titled, "2013 In Review". So here is the video. I think you can only watch it on a computer and not phones or ipads.
Thanks hon.

General Conference with Kids!
It would be a perfect world for my small children to sit quietly and still for 8 hours during LDS General conference. (luckily it is broken down to 2 hour increments) :)
But since I have an 8 year old, a 5 year old, and a wild 3 year old, that is not realistic. So, as most LDS moms do, we find puzzles or games to occupy the children so we can at least HEAR the words of the church leaders. Here are some of the things we did today:
We cut and glued the 1st presidency and 12 apostles pics to paper, and will color their ties in!
Kaylee really liked that!
Since the General Authorities are in red chairs... we found this activity at "Copy That", a cute little copy shop by Hobby Lobby in American fork. We use it every session of conference.
Konnor colored this awesome Salt Lake Temple! It is now on display by the tv.
(Also from Copy That)
(Also from Copy That)
This conference packet of 15 pages of FUN activities for all ages!
Got this for $1 at Copy That! Love that little shop!

King Benjamin asked the people to turn the tents toward the temple and harken unto the words of the Lord. So... we made a HUGE fort or shall we say, "Tent". The kids slept in it last night and will most likely beg to sleep in it again!
During intermission, I drew pics of the General authorities and the kids had to guess which one it was! Fun! My drawing skills are a little struggles, but at least my kids can figure it out. ha ha.
Have you ever been curious about Mormons? WATCH CONFERENCE! Click here to watch it!
General Conference brings me peace, guidance, understanding, and hope. I realize this life is not an easy journey for any of us, but General Conference somehow makes it easier for me. The words of the living prophets and apostles are led and inspired to know what to say! I believe it with all of my heart! If there is something that helps lift our spirits and make our home a little more of a sanctuary... we should hold on to that with everything we have!

Kase is 3!
For Kase's 3rd birthday he was dead set on having a Firetruck party! I did all of my OCD party planning MONTHS ago. I had a file set up with all of the creative details; the food, the invites, the decor, the cake, the games the party favors... Etc..
AND THEN....
We went to a Demolition Derby! The firetruck party was OUT THE DOOR!
Now this little turkey, I call, "son" wanted a Demolition Derby party!!! And I only had 2 weeks to plan it. A bit crazy for a party planning mom! But he was DEAD set! So, I had to get creative. I mean come on... how is one to throw a Demolition Derby themed party? Well, here is how-
I decided to do brown and lime green for the colors.
A Demolition Derby cake. I didn't have to be perfect with my frosting strokes and leveling. It was afterall, an dirt arena! Kase loved his cake!
Chocolate covered donuts were "Spare Tires". I had a friend make these fun labels for the food. If you click on the pic, you can see the label closer. It says, "Kase Krasher" on the side of the car! ha ha
I had to have SOMETHING healthy... so Kase wanted grapes. So, here are a skewer full of green grapes called "Dip Sticks". ha ha
The punch was "Anti-Freeze".
I must admit, I impressed myself with the party favors. :) Little labels on each bag said, "Thanks for Crashing in!" and the little place card in the corner of the pic says, Derby Prizes. Inside was a Hot Wheels Car that looked like a "derby car", a can of orange 'Crush', and a couple little pull back cars so they can have a derby at home.
For the invites, I just made them out of a pic from the Manti Derby we went to. (sorry its sideways, I couldn't get it to flip). Put a cheesy poem with it and called it good. (People like cheese right?!)

The activities were easy peasy! We went down into the dance room with some Hot Wheel cars and had our own DERBY! It was awesome! Super loud, but fun! The boys loved that part!
Every good little boy party needs a pinata right? So we had a demolition derby truck as the pinata. The kids scored big time!
Here is the gang of boys and their siblings to help out. ha ha I mean just look at those cheesy smiles in the middle! Did someone say CANDY?
Kase and I
3 of the best kids this side of the Mississippi!
Grandpa love
K5
(love my family)
And to top it all off, when we had cake, ice cream and presents... the highlight (for the adults anyway) was watching Kase's reaction to opening each gift! He was SO excited! I laughed and laughed! Even when he would open a measly ole card, he was so happy! It was like he just opened the one thing he had been dreaming of his whole little life! -But over and over!Big squeals of delight, his smile couldn't have physically gotten any bigger! Pure joy! It was my fave part of the day!
