Some highlights of Christmas!

Every year we have a "Brothersen Christmas Party". This year it was a lot of fun because Kyle's sister Kim met Konnor for the first time! This pic below is their first meeting! He loves her already!
Here is Kellie, Konnor, and Kim. The "aunts" snugglin up with Konnor! What a lucky boy!

Each year at the Brothersen Party, Santa comes to visit everyone! This picture below, is Konnors first time to sit on Santa's lap! He was mostly excited about that big bow on the top of the present! ha ha

After the Brothersen party, we decided to go bowling with the girls and kyles dad, Keith.
It was a lot of fun. It was Kaylee's first time bowling and she smoked most of us!

Christmas Letter

Brothersen Family

Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”

Merry Christmas to all! At the time we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, many families and friends take time to catch up with one another. This is a short update on our little family.

Kyle
What a wonderful man. Kaylee always says, “Daddy, you are a good man!” I couldn’t agree more. He stays pretty busy. He is serving as the Elders Quorum President in our ward. He works with all of the families in the ward and assesses needs and serves many people in our neighborhood. He is doing fantastic at his job. He works for Digicert. They issue SSL security certificates for websites and web-servers, which makes the web a safer place to do business. And best of all, he is a loving husband and father who selflessly provides for his family.

Karen
I love being a wife and a mom. It is such a blessing to be able to stay home with my children. For church, I was just called to work with the Young Women in my ward, ages 14-15. They are so much fun. I am going to start teaching dance again. I will be focusing on Ballroom, Country, and Latin dancing. I really love my life! I am very blessed to have such a wonderful husband and sweet children. I am very happy and we are all healthy.

Kaylee- 3 years
Where to start with Kaylee-girl? She is very interested in Cinderella and Tinkerbell. Kaylee loves to play “jewelry” and dress up. Her imagination is so fun to watch. She is at the stage of her little life where she will repeat ANYTHING she hears. (Good thing Kyle and I don’t swear!) She and I have been learning sign language. (Her cousin Abby is deaf and we want to be able to communicate with her.) So now Kaylee knows over 50 signs. She is doing really well!

Konnor- 7 months:
Konnor is such a little smiley man. I like to call him my “Konn-man”. He is a big boy. He weighs 17 lbs. He has 4 teeth and counting. He loves music. He will just light up like the fourth of July when he sees his daddy come home from work. He rolls one way. (He is a little too heavy to crawl yet!) Ha ha. Konnor smiles ALL the time and can make any hard day seem like no test at all. We are very blessed to have him in our family.

We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a joyous new year.

A Temple Square Christmas

Many of you know that I LOVE Temple Square in Salt Lake. It is not only a beautiful place, it is a very special place. Temple Square is where I served my mission for 19 months. It was a wonderful experience for me. I will always hold those memories dear to my heart. Every year from now on.... we will go to Temple Square to look at the lights and feel the Spirit of the Lord there. Here is a few of our pictures... Enjoy.

Our little family (minus Konnor, it was too cold for him)

The Salt Lake Temple took 40 years to construct! Faithful pioneers dedicated their lives to the building of the temple!

My favorite little corner of Temple Square... the cherry trees.

Daddy- Daughter love that can't be broken.

Kaylee and I were having a lot of fun talking to each other. She was so cute. She kept saying, "Mom, Dad... Look at those pretty lights. They are sparkling." "I love the Salt Lake Temple." "They have lights like ours huh dad!"
Kaylee is truly our little angel. She brightens up our lives in many ways.

O' Christmas Tree

We put up our Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving except for our tree. We wanted it to be alive for Christmas day, so we waited a little bit. We got our tree put up for our Family Home Evening this week! It was a lot of fun. Kaylee was such a wonderful helper (as always).
If you can't tell, our tree theme is "candy cane". There would be more pics about this fun night, but I am having technical difficulties.

Thanksgiving Day 4

Happy Thanksgiving! I am one day late, but I was too busy eating to blog!
There are so many things that I would like to say. I am thankful for a lot of things. But today I will express my gratitude for all of my extended family and good friends. It is so nice to have great family and close friends. It is comforting to know that I have people that are always there for me. To my family in Arizona, I would like to thank you for always loving me. I love you all very much in return. Distance can't change or lessen our love. To my in-laws, I would like to express my gratitude for you. Not only do I have one set of in-laws.... I have TWO sets. I am so lucky to have married into your family. You are a blessing to me. And last but not least, to my friends, I would like to thank you for being there for me. Any time of day or night I know I can call you for anything. To my bestest friends, you know who you are, I love you and am very grateful for you in my life.

Now it is the beginning of Christmas! I am sooooo excited to reflect on the birth of our Savior! He is the reason for the season!

Thanksgiving Day 3

Today I would like to express my gratitude for my husband's job. What a blessing it has been in our lives. In a time of such uncertainty, it is a real comfort knowing that Kyle has a stable, predictable, and rewarding job. For those of you who don't know what he does: He works for Digicert. When I am asked what he does, I jokingly respond with something like, "I haven't the faintest idea. All I know is he gets paid 2 times a month." But in reality, his company issues digital certificates. In more detail and to the best of my simple brain, when you go to a website and enter any kind of secure or personal information there is a little lock box that appears in the corner of your browser URL bar. That ensures that the information is encrypted and safe. Digicert validates companies and issues SSL Certificates for their websites and servers. His company has issued certificates to NASA, FBI, United Nations, Facebook, US House of Representatives, BMW, Sony, & The New York Times to name a few.
Kyles' boss is wonderful and VERY generous. His co-workers are a lot of fun. We are very blessed that Kyle has his job with Digicert!
